RESEARCH DAY 2026
Nehru Group of Institutions (NGI) conducted Research Day 2026 on 1 October 2026 at 10:00 AM to recognise and appreciate the valuable contributions of faculty members from various institutions towards research and scholarly activities.
The programme commenced with a one-minute silent prayer in fond memory of the beloved Founder Chairman, Late Shri P. K. Das, followed by a universal prayer.
The Welcome Address was delivered by Prof. Dr. Anoop K. J, Principal, NCERC. The programme was presided over by Adv. Dr. P. Krishadas, Chancellor, P K Das Deemed to be University, Honorary Trade Commissioner of Mauritius–India, and Chairman & Managing Trustee, NGI. The Lamp Lighting Ceremony was conducted by the distinguished dignitaries.
The Inaugural Address was delivered by Padma Shri M. Chandradathan, Former Director, VSSC. The Keynote Address was delivered by Dr. P. Krishnakumar, Pro-Chancellor, P K Das Deemed to be University and CEO & Secretary, NGI.
The programme also included Words of Wisdom by Dr. A. P. Jayaraman, Principal Scientific Advisor, NGI; Scientist Communicator; President, STEAM Academy; and Chairman, NSCC. Prof. Dr. H. N. Nagaraja, Vice-Chancellor, P K Das Deemed to be University, delivered the Words of Guidance.
Research Contribution Scrutiny and Selection
As part of Research Day, NGI constituted a Scrutiny Team under the Research Development Committee to identify eligible faculty members from all institutions of NGI for research-related recognition.
The Scrutiny Team systematically evaluated the research contributions submitted by faculty members. The evaluation covered:
• Research publications
• Books and book chapters
• Patents
The submitted works were scrutinised and their originality and authenticity were verified before finalising the eligible faculty members for the awards. This systematic process ensured that recognition was based on genuine and documented research contributions.
Recognition of Faculty Members of P.K. Das College of Nursing
Following the scrutiny and verification process, seven faculty members from P.K. Das College of Nursing (PKDCN) were selected for awards in recognition of their research contributions.
The Distribution of Awards formed an important part of the Research Day programme and provided an opportunity to acknowledge the scholarly achievements of the selected faculty members. The recognition also served to encourage faculty members to pursue further research, publications, innovation, and other scholarly activities.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Prof. Dr. N. Gunasekaran, Principal, JCET, followed by the National Anthem.
Outcome
Research Day 2026 served as a significant platform for recognising research excellence and appreciating the scholarly contributions of faculty members across NGI institutions. The selection and award of seven faculty members from P.K. Das College of Nursing highlighted their contributions to research publications, books, book chapters, and patents. The programme also strengthened the institutional emphasis on research culture, academic excellence, innovation, and continuous scholarly development.
Overall, the Research Day programme was successfully conducted and provided meaningful recognition to faculty members for their research contributions while motivating the academic community to actively engage in research and scholarly activities.
