Two unforgettable days of art, culture, music, creativity, and togetherness came alive on 8th
& 9th July 2026 as *MALHAR 2026*, the zonal cultural & arts fest of the Student Nurses Association of India (SNAI) Northeast Zone, was successfully hosted at Amala College of Nursing, Thrissur. Bringing together talented nursing students from institutions across the Northeast Zone, the festival became a vibrant celebration of artistic excellence, cultural diversity, and student spirit. Every performance reflected passion, creativity, and the unity that defines the nursing fraternity. The festival commenced with a grand inaugural ceremony that began with the Amala Anthem, followed by the Welcome Address delivered by Ms. Sonu Soosan Aby, Chairperson of Amala College of Nursing, Thrissur. The gathering was presided over by Rev. Fr. Julious Arakkal CMI, Director, Amala Institute of Medical Sciences.
The official inauguration was marked by the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and inaugural address by renowned playback singer Mr. Sreenath Sivasankaran, whose inspiring presence and performance added immense value and excitement to the occasion. The ceremony was further enriched by felicitations from Dr. Rajee Reghunath, Principal, Amala College of Nursing & Dean, Faculty of Nursing, KUHS; Mr. Sujith T, Zonal Advisor, SNAI Northeast Zone; Ms. Afla Nihad, Treasurer, SNAI Northeast Zone; and Mr. Dathan K V, Programme chairperson, SNAI Kerala. The inaugural session concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks proposed by Mr. Yatin Varghese Puthuran, Chairperson, and SNAI Northeast Zone. With the enthusiastic participation of nursing students from institutions across the Northeast Zone, MALHAR 2026 became a vibrant platform celebrating artistic excellence, cultural diversity, teamwork, and creativity. Participants showcased exceptional talent across various cultural competitions, making the festival a memorable celebration of unity and expression.
